(Note- lessons are given in English with Japanese terminology.  We will teach you the proper Japanese terms to use!  We also have kenshi able to help in both Mandarin and Korean)

WEDNESDAYS & FRIDAYS

 
7:30 to 8:30 Intermediate (no bogu)- includes warm-ups for advanced session

Show up by 7:15, be ready to go by 7:30!  Youth & Teens- got homework?  Get it done before you come- school is more important!
8:30 to 10:00 Advanced, with bogu (intermediate kenshi without bogu can participate in basic drills) 
 
SUNDAY MORNINGS

ULV Schedule for February & March 2012, 8:30AM to 10AM
Please show up by 8:15 and be ready to start at 8:30.

*Note that the first Sunday of each month we have access to the main gym, with lights on, to practice and welcome all southern California kenshi/sensei to join us. The facilities that ULV has provided us are fantastic for kendo!

Shinpan seminar
   

This is in addition to our Wednesday & Friday sessions, intended more for kenshi with bogu- please don't come unless you are serious about kendo

  • 8:30AM to 10AM every Sunday morning (except on tournament or special event days)- please show up at 8:15 to change-easiest access- enter door C

  • ROUTINE- 8:30 to 8:45- basics; 8:45 to 9:55- ji geiko (open keiko- practice with whoever is available, and work on whatever you want to do); 9:55 to 10AM- warm down

  • University of La Verne, main athletic center on campus (closest parking is on 1st on the south side of the gym), 2nd floor aerobics room

  • Closest cross streets- D Street & Arrow Highway,  see maps below or search via Mapquest

  • Must be wearing bogu*

  • Under 18 requires signed waiver (available at the school) and prior approval of sensei

  • Locker room available for changing- hot showers also available

  • Access limited to locker room and practice area only, please

Note- this is an ISKD-funded session- any contribution you can make to help defer cost would be appreciated

Guest kenshi of all levels and "just watching" visitors are always welcome!
